The goal of Benzie Area Affordable Spay Neuter PLLC (BAASN) is to decrease the number of unwanted dogs and cats in Benzie County and surrounding communities. Neutering or spaying pets is the primary way to accomplish this. As a volunteer based service, we are able to keep the cost of the procedure as low as possible.
Dr Carol McKee, a veterinarian, started the venture at the end of 2024. She has been passionate about animal welfare throughout her career. Now that she is “retired”, she is giving back to the community by donating her time to provide low cost spay/neuter surgeries.
BAASN centers its work around rescue groups in the area – helping them by providing low-cost spay and neuter services for their animals before they are placed for adoption. However, days will be devoted to the general public for both dogs and cats. These will be noted on this website and appointments will be available by signing up online.
Although we are not a 501(c)3, we are volunteer run and strive to provide low-cost spay/neuter services for our community cats and dogs. Your donation will allow us to keep our prices as low as possible.
